The holiday season is just a few months away and now’s the perfect time for you to spruce up your home and get it ready for receiving family and guests. You can easily put your furniture and your home in order by taking note of any (or all) of these fabulous entertaining ideas.
Starting Fresh: Before you begin, take a good look at your home’s décor. Is it outdated? Are some of your pieces faded, chipped, or broken? If they’ve seen better days, now’s probably a good time to invest in new furniture to replace whatever’s old. Try to mix and match; learn to experiment with different sizes, scales, and textures to give your home a one-of-a-kind look and feel, rather than something out of a retail showroom.
Going with the flow: Make sure to increase your floor space and rearrange the furniture to give your guests more space to socialize and move around. Create little nooks for small talk by arranging your end tables in strategic areas, allowing your guests to set down their hors d’oeuvres and glasses for more animated conversations.

Avoid crowding: Remember, ten guests won’t be able to sit comfortably around a dining table that’s made to seat six, no matter how many placemats you’re able to fit on it. If you can’t afford a new dining table just yet, spread out your chairs and let guests mingle around a casual buffet instead.
If you have an outdoor patio or backyard, you can consider bistro-style dining using affordable but chic outdoor furniture. Taller-than-standard bar tables placed in certain areas of your home can also make it easier for guests to serve themselves cocktails, appetizers, or even dessert!

As you can see, getting your home ready for guests is a cinch! In fact, you can get everything ready in just one weekend. Speaking of productive days off, you can start getting your home ready for entertaining by visiting our showrooms this Friday and Saturday, September 23rd and 24th. We’re having our Final Days Furniture Sale, where you can buy any furniture item and get an equal amount in free furniture! Clearly this weekend’s the best time to replace that old couch or that chipped dining table with fabulous new pieces!
How do you prepare your home for the holiday season? We’d love to hear what you think!
