If you give presents to your friends and family every year for the holidays, then chances are you’ve just about exhausted your ideas for gifts—from whimsical handmade crafts to delicious homemade baked goodies. This year, if you’re thinking of giving the ultimate in practicality, why not give furniture? It might be unusual and unheard of, but there’s no denying the thoughtfulness behind the gesture, which is sure to make your gift even more special.
Here are some furniture pieces to consider, ones that aren’t dependent on your recipients’ preferences or the layout of their living spaces in order to be appreciated:

#1: Bean Bag – Bean bags have come a long way from the time these Styrofoam-filled chairs were first introduced in the 1960s. Now they come in a variety of materials such as leather and suede, and sport numerous features like water resistance. What’s great about bean bags is that they can be tossed into any room and corner of the home; whether in the bedroom or media and game room, beans bags find wide use among adults and children alike.
#2: Hammock – Do your recipients have a patio? If so, a sturdy hammock would look right in place in their backyard. Sure, they may not be able to use the hammock yet during the winter season but it’s an exciting presence nonetheless, to herald the summer and those sunny, relaxing weekends with a cool margarita in hand. Take your pick between hanging and freestanding hammocks—there’s plenty to choose from!

#3: Dinnerware Sets – People have given cups and mugs before but you know what would really be great? An entire set to change up how the dinner table looks like! You can go with this idea however you like, such as giving thematic dinnerware sets like Christmas and Halloween or classy and elegant dinnerware.
