Balancing Cohesion and Personality when Decorating Your Bedroom

There are two ways you can decorate your bedroom’s interiors. First is by focusing on achieving cohesion, and second is by focusing on your personality. Although both methods offer good results, balancing both styles in one room can be better.

To get a cohesive look, you follow a common element or theme that will be used for most of the items in the bedroom. Using bedroom furniture set, a two to three-tone color scheme, and keeping to a design concept (e.g., Zen minimalist, shabby chic, and modern) are some ways to get a neat and organized look.

While an incredibly neat room can certainly impress people, a strictly cohesive room can lack personality and seem cold.

On the other hand, decorating your bedroom based on your personality can be fun as you get the chance to show off your interests. Your entire room is your canvas, so you’re free to hang wall art of your favorite movies, display your favorite toys, and even inscribe your favorite quote on the bed’s headboard.

However, it’s crucial that you put a limit to how much you show. Displaying all kinds of things without planning can lead to a tremendous amount of clutter. Too much personality in your décor may be a bit too loud for a relaxed atmosphere, don’t you think?
